Emotional reactions

You know what you want to do. Your reaction gets there first.

Work with recurring fear, tension, shame, and emotional responses that persist despite your conscious decisions.

These are examples of reactions we can work with in a focused hypnosis session. We choose one response; the wider life situation may need additional support.

Session formats and fees

Anger that takes over

“I want to be firm. Instead, I explode and regret what I said.”

We choose a recurring situation and examine what builds up before the outburst. The aim is to express what matters and respond with more choice, while addressing the circumstances that contribute to the conflict.

Fear of a familiar situation

“I know I can handle it. As soon as I get close, I want to back away.”

A flight, journey, medical procedure, or another familiar trigger can bring on a strong response. We first clarify what happens and whether this work is appropriate for you.

Waiting for the next wave of panic

“Nothing is wrong right now. I am already watching my body for signs.”

Fear of the reaction itself can begin to shape your plans. New or unexplained symptoms need medical assessment. We discuss any further work in the context of your health and current care.

Physical tension

“I am trying to relax. My body seems to be bracing for something.”

We can explore when tension appears, what intensifies it, and how you return to a calmer state. Physical symptoms should not automatically be attributed to psychological causes.

Shame, guilt, and painful memories

“I have made sense of it. Remembering it still makes me want to disappear.”

The work focuses on your present experience and response. You do not have to describe every painful detail for us to begin.

Why the pattern persists

A conscious explanation and a familiar emotional response can coexist. We pay attention to the sensations, images, and expectations that accompany the response, and explore ways to have more choice in the situation.

Where hypnosis may fit

What we can work toward

  • Stay in an important conversation without the familiar reaction taking over.
  • Express anger or disagreement without an outburst you later regret.
  • Approach a previously avoided situation with more choice about what you do.
  • Review changes in the situations that matter to you.

These are possible goals. We agree on your task and signs of progress individually.

What happens in the session

Before we meet

You briefly describe the situation and the change you want. We check suitability and agree on a focus. We can discuss it in writing or have a short call.

During the session

We identify the specific reaction and use hypnosis to work with the feelings, sensations, and underlying emotional pattern connected to it.

At the end of the hour

We return to the situation and assess what has changed. We discuss what to notice in everyday life and whether any further work would be useful.

Questions you may have

Do I need to know the cause?

No. Start with when the reaction happens and how it affects your life. Our understanding may become clearer during the work.

Is this treatment for panic disorder?

My private practice does not replace medical or psychiatric care. If you have a diagnosis, we first discuss your condition, treatment, and whether additional work is appropriate.

Does hypnosis erase memories?

No. We work with your present experience and response. Images that arise during hypnosis are not evidence of past events.

Not sure which format fits?

We can discuss it in writing or have a short call before booking. Sessions are online in English or Russian.
