Anxiety & overwhelm

You know what is happening. Your body still expects danger.

Individual hypnosis for anxiety, ongoing tension, and the sense that something bad is about to happen, even when you know you could relax.

You can begin with a situation in which you want to respond differently. On the discovery call, we can explore where to start.

Waiting for something to go wrong

“Things are fine, but I am already bracing for what might happen.”

Sometimes anxiety attaches to a conversation or event. Sometimes it arrives before you can name what you fear. We can begin with a situation in which it becomes especially clear and explore what sets the expectation in motion.

A body on alert

“I tell myself everything is fine, but my heart is racing and I cannot settle.”

Your mind may see no immediate threat while your body keeps responding to one. The work includes the sensations, images, and expectations that come with that response.

When everything feels like too much

“Even when I rest, I feel as if I have forgotten something and it will all fall apart.”

Being ready for the next demand can become a familiar state. We look at the real workload and at the response that makes it hard to recover even when there is a pause.

Why the pattern persists

You cannot always reason anxiety away. You may know that something is unlikely to go wrong and still expect it with your whole body. Hypnosis gives us a way to work with how that threat is experienced, beyond explanations of why you need not worry.

What we can work toward

  • Notice when and how the anxious response begins.
  • Explore the feelings and bodily sensations that keep it going.
  • Have more choice in the situations where anxiety currently takes over.

These are possible goals. We agree on your task and signs of progress individually.

How we work

Begin with a conversation

On a free 20-minute call, we discuss your situation, the changes you want, and your questions about hypnosis. If we decide to work together, we agree on the scope, pace, and fee.

Work with the response

We identify the specific reaction and use hypnosis to work with the feelings, sensations, and underlying emotional pattern connected to it.

Notice what changes

We look at what is changing in your experience and everyday life. We return to your goals and adjust the direction of the work when needed.

Work shaped around what you need

You may have a particular reaction in mind, or a pattern that runs through several parts of your life. We use hypnosis to work with what keeps it in place and help you find more freedom in how you respond. The focus and pace grow out of your situation.

Questions you may have

Do I need to know why I feel anxious?

No. We can begin with how it shows up now: a recent conversation, an upcoming event, or a familiar sensation in your body.

What if there really is something to worry about?

We do not have to pretend the circumstances are fine. We look at both the situation and your response to see what can change.

Begin with a conversation

What would you like to change?

In a 20-minute call, you can tell me what’s been happening and what you’d like to change. I’ll explain how I work, and we can see whether a session makes sense for you.
