Hypnosis for Allergic Reactions

Every invitation comes with a question: “How will my body react?”

If you are curious about hypnosis, bring the reaction that gets in your way. We can explore the discomfort, tension, and anticipation around it in a focused, individual session.

Discuss your reaction

It shows up in the ordinary things

You would love a cat. The thought immediately comes with a “but.”

Your partner has a dog. Spending time together takes extra planning.

Everyone looks forward to spring. You brace yourself for it.

Before accepting an invitation, you think about what might be there.

Other people see a pet, a garden, a weekend away. You are already thinking through the practicalities. Alongside the symptoms, there is the attention this takes up: watching your body, anticipating discomfort, deciding whether something is worth it.

“But my reaction is physical. Why hypnosis?”

That is a reasonable question. You do not have to call your symptoms “psychological” to bring them to a session. We begin with what you actually experience: a particular trigger, the sensations you notice, and what happens as you anticipate or remember the reaction.

Hypnosis gives us a way to work with attention, imagery, tension, and the experience of discomfort. The aim is to explore where you can feel more at ease and less caught up in monitoring your body. Your allergy care continues alongside this work.

Which part of living with the reaction would you most like to change?

We start with your particular reaction

You describe what happens and what you would like to feel differently. I ask a few focused questions, then guide the hypnotic work around that experience. You can talk, notice sensations, and tell me what is changing as we go. We finish by looking at what you have noticed and what it means for you.

More about me

You might be wondering

Do I need to believe in hypnosis?

You can arrive curious and skeptical. There is no need to switch off your thinking or try to impress me by going into a deep trance. We work with what you notice.

What should I tell you first?

The trigger, what the reaction feels like, and how it affects your life. Mention any diagnosis or treatment too. A few sentences are enough for us to start the conversation.

Can we do this online?

Yes. We meet by video, with you in a comfortable, private place. There is no exposure to an allergen during the session.

Start with the reaction you have in mind.

Tell me what happens and what you wish felt different. I will give you a clear answer about whether this work makes sense for your situation.

This work complements allergy care; it does not establish that an allergen is safe. Keep your prescribed treatment and precautions, and do not test a change by exposing yourself to an allergen.
